Salon Owner

Mark has been hairdressing for over 35 years, finally opening Blues Hair & Beauty in 2008. Mark specialises in colour and cutting and has been using the Aveda colour and products for over 20 years. Outside of work Mark is an avid Derby County fan and loves getting to the home games at Pride Park with his youngest daughter. He also really enjoys socialising with friends and spending time in the great outdoors with his family.

Carolyn Scott

Hair Stylist

Carolyn completed her hairdressing apprenticeship in 2019 with us and works alongside Mark in the salon. She loves using Aveda products on both herself and her clients and enjoys creating great results that suit each individual. When she’s not in the salon, Carolyn enjoys spending time with her family, reading, watching dramas, going to the theatre, and listening to live bands. She has a strong creative side and loves expressing it through writing poetry and restoring furniture.

Apprentice Hairdresser

Lea joined the team in June 2024 as our Receptionist and Shampooist. After completing her Level 2 Beauty Therapist course, spending time in the salon inspired her to take the next step into hairdressing, and she starting her Level 2 in Hairdressing at Loughborough College in September 2025. When she’s not at work, Lea loves being out and about and spending time with her friends.

Beauty Therapist & Qualified Hairdresser

Ella is our resident Beauty Therapist, qualified to Level 3, and also holds a Level 2 qualification in Hairdressing. She’s passionate about the hair and beauty industry and loves working with the Aveda brand. Outside of work, Ella enjoys spending time with family and friends. When she wants to relax, you’ll usually find her out on walks with her gorgeous little dog.

BUILDER IN A BOTTLE
